Pottery Pricing Calculator Spreadsheet, Ceramics Cost Calculator, Kiln Firing Cost per Piece, Wholesale and Retail, Google Sheets Excel

Know what every mug, bowl and vase really costs, and what to charge for it after Etsy fees.

Clay is cheap. The kiln firing, the glaze, the piece that cracks in the glaze firing and the time you spend trimming and glazing are not. This calculator counts all of it and gives you a cost per piece and a suggested price for the profit margin you want.

HOW IT WORKS
- Materials: type your supplies once as you bought them (a 25 lb bag of clay, a 16 fl oz jar of glaze, 50 cones). The cost per pound, ounce, ml or piece is worked out for you.
- Calculator: type the clay one piece uses. Pieces per bag fill in.
- Kiln: kW rating and electricity price, then for each firing the hours, average power %, wear per firing and how many pieces share the load. Firing cost per piece fills in.
- Add glaze, underglaze, wax and other supplies, your loss rate (cracks, warping, glaze defects), packaging and your minutes per step.
- Read the suggested price, then type your own price to see fees, profit, margin, earned per hour and the wholesale check.

GOOD TO KNOW
- Digital download, no physical item. Nothing will be shipped.
- A costing and pricing tool. It does not test food safety or glaze durability: follow your clay and glaze suppliers' guidance.
- Works in any currency: amounts are plain numbers.
- Etsy fee rates (listing $0.20, transaction 6.5%, payment processing by bank country, optional Offsite Ads 15% / 12%, regulatory fee) are editable settings, so you can update them if Etsy changes its fees.
- Comes with sample data, clearly marked SAMPLE, so you can see how it works. Sample prices are made up and are not benchmarks.
- Not affiliated with or endorsed by Etsy, Inc. Not tax, legal or financial advice.

Designed by seller. This spreadsheet was created with the help of AI tools, built and tested by hand (formulas recalculated and checked with sample data and with empty inputs).
