Seller's description

Know what every wallet, belt and bag really costs to make, and what to charge for it after Etsy fees.

Leather by the square foot, the part of the hide you cannot use, lining, waxed thread, edge paint, glue, snaps and buckles, the dies, irons and machines that wear a little with every piece, and the time you spend cutting, stitching and burnishing: it all adds up. This calculator turns it into a true cost per item and a suggested price for the profit margin you want.

HOW IT WORKS
- Materials: type your hides, sides and panels once as you bought them (e.g. a 9 sq ft shoulder), plus thread, edge paint, glue and hardware as packs. The cost per sq ft, inch, ml or piece is worked out for you.
- Pattern pieces: one line per part. Pick the leather, type length, width and pieces. Square feet and leather cost fill in. Add a yield loss % for scars, belly edges, grain direction and offcuts.
- Tools and machines: what your dies, irons, skiver, sewing machine or laser cost and how many pieces they last, plus machine minutes per piece.
- Add thread, finish, glue and hardware, packaging and your minutes for each step from pattern to packing.
- Read the suggested price, then type your own price to see fees, profit, margin, earned per hour and the wholesale check.

FEATURES
- Pattern pieces in square feet (length × width × pieces ÷ 144) for 8 parts
- Hide yield loss % and your real leather cost per square foot
- Tools and machines per piece, incl. laser or machine minutes
- Minutes for pattern and layout, cutting, skiving, dyeing, stitching, edges, hardware and packing
- Materials library: 100 supplies. Type the pack as you bought it, cost per recipe unit is worked out with unit conversion (sq ft, yd, m to in; fl oz to ml; pcs)
- Break-even price, suggested price for your target margin, rounded to .99
- Your price: Etsy fees, profit, margin and what you really earn per hour
- Wholesale check: is your wholesale price (default 50% of retail, editable) still above your cost?
- Optional Offsite Ads fee in the price
- Price Test: six prices side by side
- Price List: up to 50 products, status OK / Below target / Losing money
- Dashboard: averages, best products by earned per hour, what needs attention, chart
- Price List for wallets, card holders, belts, key fobs, watch straps and bags
