A descendant chart starts with a couple at the top (grandparents, great-grandparents, the founders of the family) and branches down through their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Type your family into the included Descendant Chart Maker and it lays out the tree for you, with spouses beside each person, and resizes everything to fit the page. Or print a blank chart and handwrite it.

WHAT YOU GET (instant download)
- Descendant Chart Maker (works offline in any web browser, nothing to install): type names and dates, add children under anyone, pick paper size, landscape or portrait and color style, then Print / Save as PDF.
- Holds up to 5 generations below the couple and up to 16 children per family. The layout rearranges itself to keep the text as large as possible.
- Blank fillable charts: 3 generations (the couple, 6 children, 4 grandchildren under each) and 4 generations (the couple, 3 children, 3 grandchildren each, 4 great-grandchildren each). Type into the boxes or print and handwrite on the dotted lines.
- 2 color styles: Heirloom (warm parchment) and Sage (soft green).
- 6 sizes: 8.5x11, 11x17, 18x24 inches, and A4, A3, A2.
- 24 blank PDFs, an example family file and a Start Here guide.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Download and unzip.
2. Double-click Descendant_Chart_Maker.html. Type the couple at the top, then add their children, grandchildren and so on.
3. Click Print / Save as PDF. Choose the same paper size and orientation, Margins: None, Scale: 100%. Print at home or send the PDF to any print shop.
Your entries save in your browser, and you can save them to a file to finish later. Nothing is uploaded, so your family's details stay on your computer.

WHICH SIZE?
- Up to about 30 people: any size
- 30 to 70 people: 11x17 or A3 and up
- Larger families: 18x24 or A2 (the Maker tells you if names are printing small)

Family reunions, 50th and 60th anniversaries, a gift for grandparents showing every grandchild and great-grandchild, or a keepsake for a memorial gathering.

GOOD TO KNOW
- The blank charts fill best in the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. Chrome and Edge also work.
- The Maker is easiest on a laptop or desktop computer.
- One spouse or partner per person. Accented names (é, ñ, ö and so on) are fine.
- The frame is not included. Colors vary slightly by printer and paper.

Designed by Front Porch Puzzle Press. The chart layouts, the Descendant Chart Maker and the blank charts were built with custom code that I wrote with help from an AI coding assistant. No AI image generator was used. The names in the photos belong to a made-up example family.
