TRY IT FIRST: play with the live demo at nymbra.studio/floatlings. Chat as a viewer, cannonball off the board, start a splash fight and fire every alert, right in your browser. No sign-up, nothing connects to your channel.

Installs in about 5 minutes with the START HERE guide, no coding. Bought on your phone? Download from your Etsy purchases on a computer; installing needs one.

Your chat throws a pool party. Everyone who chats walks in with a towel, dips a toe in, shivers, and hops into a pool along the bottom of your stream as a cute little critter. The pool is cut open at the front like a fish tank, so you see their legs kicking under the water. !cannonball sends them off the springboard in front of three judges, !splash starts a splash fight, and when someone splashes too much, the lifeguard bear hops down off his tower and calls them out for a time-out.

Your own mascot floats on a pink flamingo in sunglasses from the very first frame, so the pool is never empty, even before anyone chats. Pick its critter (19 of them: cats, bears, a panda, bunnies and round puffs), its colour, its hat and its name.

No extra login and no separate hosting to arrange: it runs in your own StreamElements account and remembers your regulars there.

WHAT HAPPENS AT YOUR POOL

• A first message walks a critter in with a towel. They test the water with a toe, shiver and hop in, with the message in a bubble, and their name picks the critter and hat, so they look the same every stream.
• !cannonball climbs out by the ladder, joins the line for the board, bounces and tucks: KER-SPLOOSH, a wave across the pool, and the judges hold up 10, 9.9 and a smug score.
• !dive picks a dive, or name one: swan, pike, backflip or pencil. Sometimes they chicken out at the tip, knees knocking, and the board flings them in anyway.
• !bellyflop lands with a SLAP, a red tummy and an OOF from the whole pool, and the judges give it 0.5, 1.0 and an ironic 10.
• !splash @name sweeps a wave of water at them. It's a hit, a duck under, or a backfire right in the thrower's own face. Plain !splash picks the nearest swimmer.
• Splash too much and the lifeguard blows his whistle, TWEEEET! One more and he hops down, points at them and calls out their name: TIME-OUT! They grumble, swim to the edge and sit it out by his tower with their arms crossed, under a sign counting down the seconds. You and your mascot are never sent out.
• !float picks a ring, duck, donut, flamingo, watermelon, pizza or lilo, kept for next stream, and !lurk climbs out onto the deck lounger in sunglasses.
• An @mention of someone in the pool and they paddle over and wave.
• A sub or resub brings a gold ring float for 30 days, gold sparkles, and a VIP triple flip off the board that scores 10, 10, 10.
• Gift subs make the gifter cannonball while rubber ducks rain into the pool, and every viewer who gets a sub gets a gold ring.
• Bits and tips throw beach balls into the pool, and the swimmers bump them around.
• A raid runs in along the deck: the raider leads a conga line of their crew, shouts EVERYBODY IN!, and they cannonball into the pool one after another.
• A follow runs in and cannonballs straight in.
• !pool shows a viewer's streams, dives, best score and splashes landed. About 1 in 200 new viewers is golden.
• The board takes one critter at a time with up to four in line, and when the pool is full, whoever has been quiet longest climbs out to make room.

COMMANDS, BY WHO TYPES THEM

Your viewers: !cannonball, !dive (or !dive swan, pike, backflip, pencil), !bellyflop, !splash @name, !float duck (7 floats, or none), !lurk, !pool, !hat goggles (flower, goggles, swim cap, bow, cap, heart, star, beret or none) and !color pink (12 colours).
You and your mods: !wave (the wave machine: big swells and the whole pool cheers), !whistle @name and !pardon @name. When you type, your mascot says it.

MAKE IT YOURS

16 settings, in plain words, in the widget's settings panel:
• Preview a pool party and Preview a raid buttons, to see it all before you go live
• Your mascot's critter (or No mascot), colour, hat and name
• The full pool, or a compact strip along the bottom edge for gameplay
• A sunny afternoon, or a night swim with the pool lights and string lights glowing
• Name tags (always, while chatting, or never), chat bubbles, and how many critters swim at once (8 to 24)
• Full graphics, or Light for a weaker PC
• The lifeguard (strict, normal, relaxed or off) and the time-out length
• Save slot and Kick channel

SETUP AND DOWNLOAD

Unzip the download on your computer and open START-HERE.html first. Its practice pool shows your whole 1080p stream with your mascot already floating, so you see where the pool sits before you install, and you can pick your mascot and settings there. Then use its copy buttons to paste HTML, CSS, JS and FIELDS into a StreamElements custom widget, size it to the whole 1920 × 1080 screen and add the overlay link to OBS or Streamlabs as a browser source. About 5 minutes in all, and no coding needed.

Your ZIP includes START-HERE.html, widget.html, widget.css, widget.js, widget.json, SETUP.md and LICENSE.txt. One-time purchase, no subscription, free updates.

WHAT YOU NEED

A free StreamElements account and OBS Studio, Streamlabs Desktop or any streaming software with browser sources. A 1920 × 1080 overlay: the pool sits along the bottom and the rest stays see-through.

• On Twitch it works as soon as the files are pasted.
• On Kick, type your channel name in the Kick channel setting, or leave it blank if you signed in to StreamElements with Kick. Twitch and Kick chat swim in one pool.

GOOD TO KNOW

• Critters come in as people chat; silent viewers don't appear until they type or use !lurk.
• The lifeguard is part of the show: a time-out in the pool, not a time-out on your channel.
• No sound. Floatlings is silent, so it never talks over your game or music.
• Colours vary a little between monitors.

FAQ

Does it remember regulars?
Yes. Your save slot keeps about 500 recent viewers in your own StreamElements account: their look, their float, their dives and best score, a subscriber's gold ring and any running time-out.

What if a lot of people want to dive at once?
The board takes one critter at a time and up to four wait in line on the deck. A sub's triple flip always gets its turn.

Will it cover my game?
Pick the compact strip for gameplay: a shallow pool along the bottom edge. The full pool with its diving board and lifeguard tower suits just chatting.

Will it slow down my PC?
Graphics Full is the default. Light draws simpler shading and fewer droplets, and leaves out the light ripples and the glows.

The listing shows the real widget with example names. Abstract listing backgrounds are not part of the overlay. This is a digital download licensed to one streamer and their channels; please do not share or resell the files.

Also from Nymbra Studio: Seatlings, where your chat goes to the movies, and Skatelings, the same critters on a winter pond.
