Mushrooms of the Eastern Woodlands Poster Print, Fungi Chart with Latin Names, Wall Art

Mushrooms of the Eastern Woodlands gathers twelve fungi of the eastern hardwood forests on one sheet, drawn in the calm, even style of a vintage field guide, each with its common name and its scientific name in italics. It is wall art for a cabin, a kitchen or a reading corner, and a gift for anyone who loves a walk in the woods.

Decorative print. Not for identification.

THE 12 FUNGI
Indigo Milk Cap (Lactarius indigo), Violet Coral (Clavaria amethystina), Hemlock Varnish Shelf (Ganoderma tsugae), American Caesar's Mushroom (Amanita jacksonii), Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus), Old Man of the Woods (Strobilomyces strobilaceus), Hen of the Woods (Grifola frondosa), Yellow Morel (Morchella americana), Scarlet Cup (Sarcoscypha austriaca), Orange Mycena (Mycena leaiana), Cinnabar Chanterelle (Cantharellus cinnabarinus), Dryad's Saddle (Cerioporus squamosus).

It is a sheet of surprising forest colors, from the blue Indigo Milk Cap and the purple Violet Coral to the lacquered red Hemlock Varnish Shelf, the flamingo-pink Cinnabar Chanterelle and the black-and-white Old Man of the Woods. Each one is drawn at the same tile size, though in life they range from Orange Mycena caps under 2 inches across to a Hen of the Woods up to about 16 inches wide.

Scientific names follow current usage on iNaturalist and in recent research, so a few differ from older field guides: the Violet Coral appears as Clavaria amethystina, the Yellow Morel as Morchella americana and the Dryad's Saddle as Cerioporus squamosus.
