Interactive Firefly Twitch Overlay & Sub Goal Jar, StreamElements and Kick | Cozy Chat Fireflies, Paper Lanterns, Shapes | Firefly Meadow

TRY IT FIRST: play with the live demo at nymbra.studio/firefly-meadow. Chat as a viewer, light a lantern with friends, draw shapes, call the Spirit, fire every alert and fill the jar, right in your browser. No sign-up, nothing connects to your channel.

Installs in about 5 minutes with the START HERE guide, no coding. Bought on your phone? Download from your Etsy purchases on a computer; installing needs one.

Your chat becomes a meadow of fireflies. Everyone who chats is a little firefly in a hood, with a glowing lantern belly and big eyes, blinking a gentle rhythm of its own, and it is still theirs next stream. Two viewers who reply to each other fly off together. Three or more friends who talk light a paper lantern with a place name, like Clover Hollow, and it hangs on a string across the top of your stream and stays there, so your community builds its own lantern festival over the weeks.

Your goal is a mason jar with a gingham cover. Subs fly in as gold fireflies (or follows, bits or tips, your pick). When it fills, the jar rattles, the cloth blows off, a wave of light rolls across the meadow, every firefly glows together and they draw a heart (or the shape you pick) over your thank-you words.

A see-through full-screen overlay for StreamElements, shown in OBS or Streamlabs. Twitch and Kick chat share one meadow.

WHAT HAPPENS IN YOUR MEADOW

• First message: a firefly rises out of the grass with that chatter's name, and their message shows in a bubble over it. Their name picks their glow from your colour theme.
• Replies and @mentions: the two fireflies fly to each other, a little heart pops, and they fly together for a while.
• Lanterns: three or more viewers who talk to each other gather, fall into one rhythm and fly into a paper lantern that unfolds, lights up in their colours and gets a place name. It rises to the string and glows whenever one of them chats. Nine hang on the string at once, and up to 24 are saved.
• Regulars: their firefly keeps its colour, its sub star, its nights in the meadow and its lantern. Viewers from the last 45 days are napping in the grass when you go live and wake up when they chat. Up to 400 viewers are saved in your own StreamElements account.
• Quiet viewers settle on a grass tip after 15 minutes and doze until they chat again.
• Before anyone chats, a few wild fireflies drift over the grass, so the meadow is never empty.

SHAPES AND THE SPIRIT OF THE MEADOW

• !shape star (you and your mods): every firefly flies into place and draws it in steady light for about 9 seconds. 16 shapes: heart, star, sparkle, moon, paw, crown, flower, cat, butterfly, clover, smile, pumpkin, ghost, snowflake, tree and spiral. One shape every 12 seconds.
• !spirit (you and your mods): every firefly swirls together into one great creature made of light, a whale, a stag or a fox, which glides across your stream for about 14 seconds and bursts back into fireflies. Once every 45 seconds.
• Channel points: name a reward after a shape, like "Firefly star", and redeeming it draws that shape. A reward with "spirit" in its name brings the Spirit. Nothing to set up.

ALERTS

• Follow: a new firefly blinks on in the grass and rises.
• Sub: a gold star on their hood for 35 days.
• Gift subs: a gold star for the gifter and, when your jar fills with subs, gold fireflies streaming from them into it.
• Bits: their firefly flares and flies a big loop.
• Tip: a wish lantern with their name floats up and away.
• Raid: a river of fireflies pours in, then the whole meadow becomes the Spirit of the Meadow.

CHAT COMMANDS, BY WHO TYPES THEM

Your viewers: !lurk (their firefly naps on a grass tip until they chat again), !glow (a bright glow, a loop and their card: nights in the meadow and their lantern) and !glowcolor pink (13 colours: gold, lime, amber, green, peach, mint, sky, blue, lilac, violet, pink, rose and white, kept for next stream).
You and your mods: !shape, !spirit, !lanterns (the lanterns light one by one with their names) and !glowcolor @viewer pink.

MAKE IT YOURS

19 settings in the widget's settings panel, in plain words:
• Preview a stream and Preview the big moments (a shape, a raid that becomes the Spirit, then the full jar), to see it all before you go live
• 6 colour themes: Meadow (warm gold), Blue Ghost (cool blue), Sakura (pink and peach), Fairy Mix (pastel rainbow), Witchy (violet and green), or Custom, where one glow colour builds the rest. Each one dresses the whole night: the lights, the hoods, the jar's gingham, the lantern paper and the grass
• Firefly size, the glowing grass along the bottom, chat bubbles and the lantern string
• Where fireflies fly: along the bottom, bottom and sides, or anywhere
• The Spirit of the Meadow: a whale, a stag, a fox, or off
• The jar: on or off, what fills it (subs, follows, bits or tips), when it opens, which side it sits on, your thank-you words, the shape the fireflies draw when it opens (or a different one each time), and a button to start a new jar
• Graphics: Full for the soft glowing light, or Light for slower PCs
• Kick channel

WHAT YOU GET

One instant-download ZIP:
• START-HERE.html: open it in your browser to play with a practice meadow that runs the real widget, pick your colours and jar, and copy each file with one click
• widget.html, widget.css, widget.js and widget.json: the four files for StreamElements
• SETUP.md: the same steps as plain text
• LICENSE.txt

One-time purchase, no subscription, free updates.

SETUP

Unzip the download on your computer and open START-HERE.html. Pick your colours and jar there, then use its copy buttons to paste HTML, CSS, JS and FIELDS into a custom widget in StreamElements, stretch it over a 1920 × 1080 overlay and add the overlay link to OBS or Streamlabs as a browser source. About 5 minutes in all, and no coding needed.

WHAT YOU NEED

A free StreamElements account and OBS Studio, Streamlabs Desktop or any streaming software with browser sources. A 1920 × 1080 overlay: the fireflies fly along the bottom, the lanterns hang across the top, and the rest stays see-through.
• On Twitch it works as soon as the files are pasted.
• On Kick, type your channel name in the Kick channel setting, or leave it blank if you signed in to StreamElements with Kick.

GOOD TO KNOW

• The lights are gentle: slow, soft swells with a rest after each one, never strobing or fast blinking.
• Fireflies come in as people chat; silent viewers appear once they type something or use !lurk.
• The meadow counts chat and alerts that arrive while your overlay is running. It doesn't import past followers, subs or chatters.
• No sound. Firefly Meadow is silent, so it never talks over your game or music.
• Colours vary a little between monitors.

FAQ

Will it cover my game?
Keep Where fireflies fly on Along the bottom (the default), make the fireflies smaller or turn the grass off. Everything else is see-through.

Can I turn off the jar or the lanterns?
Yes. Show the goal jar and Show the lantern string are both checkboxes in the settings.

What counts toward the jar?
What you pick: subs (gifted ones too), follows, bits or tips. When it opens, Start a new jar in the settings begins the next one.

Does it remember my viewers after OBS restarts?
Yes. Their firefly, colour, sub star, nights in the meadow, their lanterns and the jar's count are saved in your StreamElements account.

Will it slow down my PC?
Graphics Full draws the soft glowing light. Light draws simpler glows and skips the trails, for a slower PC.

The listing shows the real widget with example names. Abstract listing backgrounds are not part of the overlay. This is a digital download licensed to one streamer and their channels; please do not share or resell the files.
