Backyard Birds of Delaware Poster Print, Identification Chart with Latin Names, Wall Art

Backyard Birds of Delaware is a chart of 16 birds you can see from a kitchen window in Delaware, laid out like a vintage field guide: each bird drawn in a matching style, with its common name and its scientific name in italics.

THE 16 BIRDS
Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis), Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos), Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata), Carolina Chickadee (Poecile carolinensis), Tufted Titmouse (Baeolophus bicolor), Carolina Wren (Thryothorus ludovicianus), Red-bellied Woodpecker (Melanerpes carolinus), Downy Woodpecker (Dryobates pubescens), Northern Flicker (Colaptes auratus), Song Sparrow (Melospiza melodia), American Goldfinch (Spinus tristis), American Robin (Turdus migratorius), Mourning Dove (Zenaida macroura), Red-winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus), White-throated Sparrow (Zonotrichia albicollis), Gray Catbird (Dumetella carolinensis).

A few are seasonal: the Gray Catbird is a summer bird, and the White-throated Sparrow comes for the winter. The others live in Delaware all year, in all three counties.

Before printing, we checked every species against eBird records for all three Delaware counties and All About Birds range maps. The illustrations are stylized, so for a tricky bird keep a field guide or the Merlin app handy.
