Highlights
A funny medieval legend gift for siblings and Ren Faire fans: the chibi storybook-watercolor young Arthur, a startled squire in a blue and gold tabard, draws a sword from a steel anvil on a marble stone and says "Went to fetch my brother a sword. Came back king."
A funny, cute boy king gift for a big or little brother, a medieval history fan, a Ren Faire regular, an English teacher or anyone who got a promotion by accident.
THE STORY BEHIND IT
In Thomas Malory's 1485 retelling of the old legends of Britain, young Arthur is sent to fetch a sword for his foster brother, Sir Kay, who has left his own behind on the way to a tournament. Finding their lodging locked, Arthur pulls a sword from a steel anvil set on a great four-square marble stone in a churchyard, not knowing that whoever drew it out was the rightful king of England.
WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
- Funny medieval shirt: the watercolor chibi squire Arthur, wide-eyed as the sword slides free of the anvil, says "Went to fetch my brother a sword. Came back king."
