Blended Family Tree Template, Editable Step & Half Sibling Family Chart

REMARRIED? STEPCHILDREN, HALF-SIBLINGS, AN ADOPTED SON? THIS FAMILY TREE DRAWS THEM ALL.

Most family tree templates have room for one mom, one dad and their children. Real families often look different. Type your family into the included Blended Family Tree Maker and it lays out the whole chart for you: every marriage and partnership (current, divorced or ended by death), birth, adopted, step and foster children, and the half- and step-siblings that come with them. Each family's children hang from their own parents' line, so anyone can see who belongs to whom. Or print a blank chart and handwrite it.

WHAT YOU GET (instant download)
- Blended Family Tree Maker (works offline in any web browser, nothing to install). Add people with + Partner, + Child, + Sibling and + Parents. Mark each partnership married or partners, current, former or ended by death, and each child as born to both, adopted, a stepchild or a foster child.
- Two families joined, three marriages, both sets of grandparents, four generations: the chart arranges itself and resizes to fit the page.
- Relationship labels: pick one person, and every box shows how they are related to them (stepfather, half-sister, step-grandmother, cousin...). Or turn labels off for a plain chart.
- A line key on the chart: married, partners, divorced or separated, birth child, adopted (dashed), stepchild (dotted), foster child.
- 44 blank charts to print and handwrite, with a small label and writing lines in every box: Two Families Joined, Remarried (children from both marriages), Yours Mine and Ours, and Two Families Joined with Grandparents (11x17 / A3 and larger).
- 2 color styles: Heirloom (warm parchment) and Sage (soft green). Each family's lines can have their own color, or all one color.
- 6 sizes: 8.5x11, 11x17, 18x24 inches, and A4, A3, A2. Landscape or portrait.
- An example family file and a Start Here guide.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Download and unzip.
2. Open Blended_Family_Tree_Maker.html in your web browser (the Start Here guide shows how, step by step). Start from a shape such as Two Families Joined, or add the first person and build from there.
3. Click Print / Save as PDF. Choose the same paper size and orientation, Margins: None, Scale: 100%. Print at home or send the PDF to any print shop.
Your entries save in your browser, and you can save them to a file to finish later. Nothing is uploaded, so your family's details stay on your computer.

WHICH SIZE?
- Up to about 20 people: any size
- More than about 30 people: 11x17 or A3 and up
- Big families: 18x24 or A2 (the Maker tells you if names are printing small)

GREAT FOR
A wedding or anniversary gift for a blended family, a Christmas gift for grandparents with step-grandchildren, an adoption day keepsake, a family reunion, or simply explaining who is who.

GOOD TO KNOW
- The Maker is easiest on a laptop or desktop computer.
- Accented names (é, ñ, ö and so on) are fine.
- The frame is not included. Colors vary slightly by printer and paper.

HOW THIS WAS MADE
Designed by Front Porch Puzzle Press. The chart layouts, the Blended Family Tree Maker and the blank charts were built with custom code that I wrote with help from an AI coding assistant. No AI image generator was used. The names in the photos belong to made-up example families.
