Easy Ribbed Crochet Winter Hat Pattern: Invisible Seam, 4 Sizes (PDF Pattern)

CROCHET PATTERN
I call this hat, and its companion scarf and fingerless gloves, “Riding the Rails” because this light and stretchy beanie-style hat is perfect to toss on for a walk along the train tracks just as the stars are coming out on a clear, chilly evening.

This pattern is for a lightweight but warm beanie / toque. It is designed to work perfectly with Lion Brand Wool-Ease worsted-weight yarn, which gives this hat a super-soft, lightweight feel with the warmth of wool and washability of acrylic.

You can make these hats with whatever worsted or aran-weight yarn you'd like, but the measurements may come out slightly different.

4 sizes: Adult Large/Slouchy, Adult Fitted/Teen, Child and Baby.

Time to Complete: 1 - 5 hours

Yarn needed: 1 skein of Lion Brand Wool-Ease worsted-weight is enough for a hat + pom-pom. Or use your favorite worsted-weight yarn! A customer recently alerted me to Caron Cupcakes Yarn, which makes for a colorful version and even comes with it's own matching ready-made pompom!

Hook sizes: H8/5.00mm and G6/4.00mm or other size to obtain gauge

Stitches Used: Chain, Slip Stitch, Single Crochet, Double Crochet

Special Stitches: a special invisible joining technique creates a subtle, straight seam. A photo tutorial for the invisible join is included.
