This is Edwin M. Knowles' Norman Rockwell collectors' plate entitled THE UNEXPECTED PROPOSAL. It was issued in 1986 and was the first plate in the limited edition collection called ROCKWELL'S COLONIALS: THE RAREST ROCKWELLS. This was heralded as a long-awaited release of the important historical works in which Norman Rockwell celebrated the people and values of our past.

This was approved and granted the seal of endorsement by the Norman Rockwell Family Trust. It is certified as a true "Rockwell Classic" by the Rockwell Society of America.

The edition was limited to 150 firing days. The plate is numbered 10871C and comes with the original box. It also has the original Certificate of Authenticity included.

Bradex Number: 84-R70-8.1. There is also a Rockwell Society of America Official red seal on the back of the plate. It also has a purple Authenticated by the family of Norman Rockwell seal on the back.

The plate has gold on the outside edge. Measurement: 9-1/4" in diameter.

In excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. It appears to have been kept in the original box.

This was packaged very well when I received it. We had actually been gone all day with family to watch the 2024 total eclipse. The postman left it on our porch so it wouldn’t get bent in the mailbox but it had started storming before we got home. As I drove up in the driveway I saw that envelope had been blown away from the door and into the flowerbed and the vinyl envelope had gotten wet. I took it in and opened it immediately and even the foam board keeping the sheet music from getting it wrinkled had gotten a little wet. I removed the sheet music from the protection of 2 foam boards and it was wrapped in a sheet protector taped up! He had the sheet music protected extremely well. He took great care to provide excellent service.
