This stunning ikat fabric is made with natural indigo dye. Artisans meticulously dyed the yarns and aligned them into beautiful patterns before weaving started. It requires highly skilled weavers to create patterns liked these.
This medium to heavy weight fabric is created by cooperatives in the lakeside village of San Juan La Laguna. The artisans from this community specialize in backstrap woven textiles featuring traditional Ikat designs created using natural dyes.
