Overall, we’re happy with the ring and we’re keeping it. We had the ring appraised by a trusted local jeweller and the value was listed as $1000CAD lower than what we paid. The jeweller also recommended we make additional repairs to prongs to the tune of $400. We understand, this is an antique ring, it is what it is. Ultimately, we paid more than maybe we should have but we’re happy with the ring and we just want to move on. The seller offered to return the ring but we’ve decided to just eat the additional costs and accept the ring.
