Ayurvedic Herbal Shampoo Sachets: Reetha, Shikakai, Amla - 3 Pack

This pack contains three sachets of raw reetha (soap nuts), shikakai (Acacia concinna), amla (Indian gooseberry) in their dried form.
In Indian herbal or Ayurvedic tradition, these three nuts are cracked and boiled in water, soaked for hours and squeezed when cool to extract their natural components. Then the water is strained of the pulp, and used as a shampoo for natural beautiful hair. Reetha or soapnuts provide the lather, shikakai acts as a conditioner and amla cools of the scalp and hair adding to its luster.

None of us have time for all that. These sachets have the same stuff measured out in exact quantity. Eliminates the need to crack and strain. To use, just drop the sachet in a bowl of hot water, leave for a couple of hours, squeeze and rub to extract, throw the sachet out and use the water as a mild shampoo. Take care not to get this in contact with eyes, or it will sting. Since it is a natural product, don't expect a huge lather like chemical based shampoos. Leaving it in the hair for couple minutes and gentle rubbing in the scalp helps with the cleansing. However the sachets are big enough that if you have short hair, you can remove some pods before steeping for later use. Most people use this to make large quantitative of shampoo that they bottle and store in fridge.
