This unique and thoughtful birthday guest book alternative is an exciting and warm way to involve your guests at your event. Guests sign a piece and drop it in the frame where it can be cherished for a lifetime.

There are many options to choose from. These guest books are also great for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, fundraisers and any other event.

The item pictured is 16"x 20" with a 1.25" inch white frame and silver background. EACH FRAME CAN HOLD A DIFFERENT AMOUNT OF HEARTS. There are 3 different sizes of hearts, and you should choose yours depending on what your are going for. There are 1.5" hearts, 1.75" hearts and 2" hearts. Just that quarter of an inch difference changes the amount which can be written on the hearts dramatically (see picture). The larger size of hearts, the less the frame will be able to hold of that size. The center heart standard size is 3", but this may grow slightly with the much larger frames to keep the "look."

In our opinion...(refer to picture to see example hearts sizes with text)

The 1.5" hearts are a good size for just a name or two, but not much more. Maybe a name with a smiley or a one or two word blurb, or a very small drawing.

The 1.75" hearts hold more text. A great size for multiple names (often the choice of signing by couples). Also a name with a longer blurb and/or small drawing.

The 2" hearts have quite a bit of room and are great for allowing guests to leave a message.


The frame sizes, and approximate amount of each heart size that frame will hold are as follows:

8"x 10" holds 40 1.5" hearts, 30 1.75" hearts, 20 2" hearts
11" x 14" holds 80 1.5" hearts, 65 1.75" hearts, 40 2" hearts
14" x 16" holds 125 1.5" hearts, 100 1.75" hearts, 70 2" hearts
16" x 20" holds 175 1.5" hearts, 140 1.75" hearts, 100 2" hearts
18" x 24" holds 225 1.5" hearts, 185 1.75" hearts, 130 2" hearts


**Make sure to leave a note of exactly what you want engraved after purchase. The example photos were guest books for weddings. For birthdays I've seen things like "Happy 40th Dave" "Jenna's sweet 16" and "Judy's 5th birthday 10-14-2025" Whatever you choose, we can engrave it and we will design it to look as best as possible.**

The interior heart pieces are made of 1/4 inch thick maple wood. The front cover is glass. The heart piece with the names on it has been finished with a tung oil finish. The pieces are easily written on with pens, ultra fine tip markers, gel pens, pencils, colored pencils, graphite pencils and more.

You can choose between the light colored white frame , a grey frame, or the darker colored black frame.

**The background color will be brown (hardboard) unless you state otherwise . Simply add which color you want as your background in the notes for me upon checkout. Sometimes the colors desired are less common, such as coral or plum, etc. In that case I will most likely have to paint the backing. This is fine. We don't mind putting in the extra effort. We just ask that you please leave good feedback and/or share on social media.

All of the frames have a metal hanger on the back so they can be hung on the wall.

**There are various fonts you can choose from for this item. They are included in one of the pictures with a letter symbolizing each. You can also choose a font of your own liking, as long as it is free for to download, just supply us with the link to where it can be downloaded. fonts.google.com and dafonts.com both have a good selection. Add which font you prefer in the notes section upon checkout. If you want two separate fonts, just let us know which font and which portion you want that font. For instance you may say the names in font A and the date in font C. If you don't clarify any font(s) we will choose.

Also if you want the signed pieces or the engraved piece to be a different shape (ie. circles, stars, rounded corner rectangles, etc.) just let us know in your notes and we can accommodate.

*We will include the instruction sign for no charge (engraved on wood sign which says "Please sign a leaf and drop it in the frame, so we never forget our loved ones who came") if you photograph and share this guest book (preferably in use at your event) on facebook. You'll need to tag Havoly's facebook page in the post, http://www.facebook.com/havolydesigns. You must first like the facebook page and let us know in the notes section what name you liked the page with (if it's different from the name you ordered on here with).
