Starfish story:
One day an old man was walking along the beach.
It was low tide, and the sand was littered
with thousands of stranded starfish
that the water had carried in and then left behind.

The man began walking very carefully
so as not step on any of the beautiful creatures.
Since the animals still seemed to be alive, he
considered picking some of them up and
putting them back in the water,
where they could resume their lives.

The man knew the starfish would die
if left on the beach's dry sand but he reasoned
that he could not possibly help them all,
so he chose to do nothing and continued walking.

Soon afterward, the man came upon a small child
who was frantically throwing one starfish
after another back into the sea.

The old man stopped and asked the child,
"What are you doing?"

"I'm saving the starfish," the child replied.

"Why waste your time?...
There are so many you can't save them all
so what does is matter?" argued the man.

Without hesitation, the child picked up another starfish
and tossed the starfish back into the water...

"It matters to this one," the child explained.

The D1 is silver plated and it may wear off over time and the copper colored metal under it will show.

The D2 & D3 doesn't have this happen as it is the same material all the way through the bangle without a plating.

D2 and D3 difference is where the wires meet and the charms hang. The D2 is a single wrap and D3 has 3 wraps to close it. It doesn't change the strength or security of the bangle, it is purely a cosmetic preference.

Please note that a stainless bangle choice DOES NOT mean that the charms will be stainless too. Bangle options apply to the bangle wire only. If you would like to know the charm metal, please send a message.

Most charms are a plated zinc metal alloy. The manufacturer takes a variety of melted metals and forms them into the shape. They are then covered with a silver colored coating. The coating could wear off over time due to rubbing on clothing, excessive cleaning and scrubbing or exposure to water.

Some of the charms are stainless steel.

None of the charms are sterling silver.
