JEWELRY CARE and CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

We make our jewelry to stand up to everyday abuse, but to preserve its look for as long as possible, we recommend taking it off while using abrasives or chemicals of ANY kind and during physical work. This includes everything from washing the dishes to blacksmithing. Most all of our jewelry can be cleaned gently with ordinary dish soap and your fingers. DON'T use an abrasive pad or put it in the dishwasher! Patina wearing off? Pieces with a patina finish will change and develop character over time in a way unique to each piece and each wearer. If you need to spruce it up a little though, let us know and we'll point you in the right direction.

CUSTOM and PERSONALIZED ORDERS

You can request a custom piece on our main shop page. Simply send us a message describing your idea if you'd like to get a quote on an item we don't currently have for sale. Example pictures are always helpful so include them if possible! For variations on a piece we have for sale, please use the tool to request customization on that particular listing's page.

WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT MY ORDER?

Everything in our shop ships FREE in the US with USPS First Class (2-5 day delivery). We ship internationally too! SHIPPING UPGRADES can be purchased on the checkout screen. The upgrades have a small extra fee built in which moves you to the TOP of our production queue so you get your order even faster! DELIVERY TIMES ARE FROM THE TIME OF SHIPMENT, NOT FROM THE TIME YOU PLACE THE ORDER. Your item has to be made before it can be shipped, which takes 3-5 days. We guarantee that your item will be shipped within the production window found in the listing, but ONCE IT'S WITH THE SHIPPING CARRIER, we can't control delays or extra charges incurred and thus are not responsible for them. Please contact the shipping carrier with those concerns.

We take great care to make your ring EXACTLY the size you order. We measure rings from their center to ensure an accurate size regardless of ring width, so there is no need to order a larger size than you need. Please be certain that you have your correct ring size before ordering as a RESIZING FEE will apply. RESIZING FEES: - $30 to INCREASE size - $40 to DECREASE size Please DO NOT use DIY sizing methods. No paper around the finger, no printed sizers. They are extremely inaccurate. If you need help with sizing, please ask. The buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping back to FJMetalworks. The resizing fee INCLUDES STANDARD DOMESTIC SHIPPING back to the buyer via USPS. International buyers will have an additional shipping charge.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

Although we do NOT accept returns, we do accept EXCHANGES for DEFECTIVE or DAMAGED IN TRANSIT items. Just contact us within 3 days of delivery. These cases will be given a FREE EXCHANGE. If you’re not happy with your item, send us a message and let us know what’s wrong! We’ll work together to make it right. You may return your item for a 50% refund (excluding shipping), no questions asked. The buyer is responsible for all return shipping charges. This MUST BE done WITHIN 3 DAYS of delivery. WHAT ABOUT EXCHANGES?

We offer free exchanges on items DAMAGED IN TRANSIT and DEFECTIVE pieces. Contact us within 2 DAYS of delivery and include a picture of the damage. If you decide that you want to exchange because you change your mind on the design, there is a RESTOCKING FEE of 30% of your item's cost. The buyer is responsible for all return shipping charges. This must be done within 7 days of delivery. Please contact us BEFORE sending anything back as some items, such as personalized orders, are not eligible for exchange. DOES COPPER TURN SKIN GREEN?

Copper reacts with the natural oils and moisture on many skin types and can leave a green band in the shape of the ring. It’s TOTALLY HARMLESS and there is no need to worry if you see this. This oxidation should happen less as an oxide layer builds up on the inside surface of the ring and forms a barrier between the metal and skin. The amount of time this takes will vary from person to person depending on things like how often you clean the ring and even the things you eat! To prevent this reaction altogether, thoroughly clean the inside surface with alcohol to ensure that the enamel sticks, then apply a thin coat of any kind of clear enamel (nail polish, etc.) around the inside. Let it dry and boom! It's taken care of.

We stand by our jewelry for life. If your ring or bracelet ever breaks for any reason, even if it was caused by a bizarre circus accident involving racoons, let us know and we’ll repair it free of charge. We just want to know the the details of how you used your bracelet to block the death ray and save the world.

WHAT’S SO BAD ABOUT DIY RING SIZING?

Good question! Because it’s wrong 100% of the time, every time. The difference between each whole US ring size is less than 1mm in diameter and you can’t get that precision with something flexible like paper. It’s an incredibly fine line between a perfect fit and something that’s way too loose or tight. Don’t do the old paper wraparound method, and forget about printing one of those ring size templates where you cut out the paper ring and try it on. Not only will the paper flex and give you an inaccurate size, but your printer isn’t calibrated to print at perfect 1:1 scale, either. Basically, if it involves paper, don’t do it. Instead, please ask a local jeweler or buy a set of stainless steel sizing rings from Amazon.
