Inspired by the amazing story of Dave Roome taking his Lighting to 87,800ft over Singapore, this stunning print captures the power of the Lighting as it climbs towards extreme altitude where the sky darkens and the curvature of the Earth is clearly visible.

The original painting was exhibited at the 2024 Guild of Aviation Artists Annual Exhibition at the Shuttleworth Collection where it was bought by Dave Roome himself.

This is another very fine piece of aviation art by Simon, featuring the greatest of all aircraft. I have several of Simons prints, and this one is as beautiful and evocative as the others. I am very happy to add this to my Lightning collection.

This print is stunning. Having served alongside 5 of the signatories from 84-88 whilst this aircraft was in service, it is very close to my heart and consider myself very lucky to own one of the last copies available. Simon Mumford is an incredibly talented artist and this print is of the highest quality.
