Materials: brass

A Mid Century modernist brass nut cracker, by Carl Auböck II (1900-1957). This iconic Austrian designer studied at the Bauhaus institute in Germany and was a student of Johannes Ittens. He started to work in his fathers workshop, somewhere in the early twenties. Since then the Auböck werkstätte produced thousands of beautiful design objects.
The company is still in the hands of the Auböck family.
This stylish nut cracker shows its age, but that vintage look makes it only more charming.
Lovely collectors item with a monumental timeless design.
Condition: (see pictures) good, but not pristine. More than half a century of cracking nuts left its traces, but the item itself still looks great.
