This Vintage / Antique Navajo ring set with
very substantial turquoise cabochon. this turquoise most likely Blue Gem turquoise. please see photos for a description. please contact me if you need more photos.
it is in very good vintage/antique condition! size approx 6.3, but runs small, can be sized by a jeweler if needed.
approx 13g, marked sterling and possibly a symbol, but unreadable because of patina and age.
last photo shows 5 rings together to help you to understand better the shade of the blue of the ring listed for sale. only 1 ring is included in this sale (shown in the first photo), all others are listed separate and can be purchased separate.
Blue Gem turquoise tends to form in very thin slab forms rather than nugget.
The Blue Gem mine is no longer active, produced almost every shade of green and blue turquoise imaginable. The Blue Gem mine is located near Battle Mountain. The Battle Mountain or Blue Gem mine, which began production in 1934 yielded the most valuable Blue Gem turquoise because of its rich color and hardness.
