This simple pair of mint glass earrings are one of my most popular pairs of earrings!

The earrings measure about 1/4" (ranging in size from about 5-7mm) and are attached to a sterling silver post. They come with a pair of sterling silver backs.

My Process:
I create my fused glass designs by cutting sheets of colored glass and stacking them on top of each other in layers. These creations are then fired together in a kiln at about 1500 degrees so that the layers melt down into each other and fuse together to become one piece. The way in which I stack the glass determines what the design will look like once it is fired. After the glass is fused together I "coldwork" many of my pieces by grinding, sawing, drilling and sandblasting the glass to refine the designs. They are then fired in the kiln to be polished to a nice shine. While many pieces might only require one pass through these steps, some pieces end up being coldworked and fired several times in order to achieve the desired effect. All of my work has been annealed in a kiln for strength and durability so that my work can be enjoyed for many years to come.
