The rug is very hardwearing, as the process of making doesn't involve any chemicals. It`s natural and eco-friendly. Completely original, warm and authentic. Each rug is handmade in the traditional designs and colours and each one is a special small masterpiece, where the masters have placed a small part of their souls.

History:

These are authentic wool throws handmade on a loom in the Carpathian Mountains (Ukraine).People that create these magic things are called Hutsuls. The Hutsuls are a small-ethnic sub- group of the Ukrainians, they live isolated in the mountains and developed craft forms of their own.
Can you imagine, that almost all people of this region are craftsmen.
This particular traditional blanket is called “Lizhnyk”. These rugs are made of pure sheep wool by local women using a technology that dates hundreds, if not thousands of years back. And the secrets of carpetmaking are passing from generation to generation there.

Process:

LIZHNYK has been handwoven, then felted in the mountain crystal river for several hours, sun dried and slightly brushed on both sides to create soft look.The energy of it is colossal! Lizhnyk will not only warm you in cold days but it also has healing properties.

Care:
Lizhnyk can be cleaned using cold or slightly warm water and a sponge ( by hands), or you can take it to the dry cleaner's (MIND-ONLY DRY CLEAN! IT'S 100% WOOL).

This rug from Oksana’s shop is beautiful and incredibly soft. I loved the design of this rug, but I wanted a more neutral color so Oksana worked with me to choose the right wool for this custom piece. Ordering was easy and Oksana kept me updated throughout the process. From start (ordering) to finish (receiving the rug), the whole process took about four weeks. Absolutely beautiful workmanship! I am so happy with this rug! Just for reference, I ordered it on 9/8/2017 and received it 10/23/2017. I did ask for a replication of a rug in a smaller size so it had to be custom made and shipping to California USA took a long time. It was definitely worth the wait though! Oksana did a beautiful job and also gave wonderful customer service working with me to get exactly what I wanted and giving me shipping updates. 100% would recommend!

I just received my Wool rug from Oksana and it is amazing! It is one of a kind. It is softer than any rug I have ever felt. Since it is winter in the Ukraine the rugs take a bit longer to make and Oksana communicated this to me right away so I knew when it would arrive. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a handmade one of a kind beautiful rug. I love this rug so much and I hope to have it long enough to give to my future children. My cats also love it! :) Thanks so much!
