This lovely antique platter was made by Saxon of Ohio in the late 1920s or early 1930s. The pattern show a parrot, flowers and a lantern which reflect American's interest in Asian design at the time. The platter measures 13 7/8" x 10 1/2" and is marked on the back: "Saxon China" and shows their shield and crest. The piece has a pretty patina of crazing, dirt and marks from age. There are areas of wear in the decal, but no large chips or cracks. The gold band around rim and blue painted inner stripe show wear.

This platter is sturdy and ready to be put back to use. It makes a great addition to a vintage kitchen and looks pretty displayed on a shelf.
