All of my copper pieces are sealed to maintain their original shine and patina look. Overtime, with love and wear the seal will thin and the pieces will continue to oxidize. To prevent oxidation do not shower or swim with your jewelry on. You may also reapply lacquer, varnish, or clear nail polish to keep the jewelry sealed after repeated wear. If jewelry tarnishes, you may use lemon juice, ketchup, or any other natural acid-based solvent to shine it back up, however, be mindful of the stones included on your piece. Stones that are less than a 7 on the Mohs scale might be damaged by prolonged exposure to acid.


Copper jewelry should not react with your skin, however, people who are copper deficient may have green skin in the area of the jewelry. This happens when your body’s pH is more acidic or copper deficient and dissolves copper from the jewelry faster than the body can absorb it. When your pH is balanced, copper is absorbed at the same rate that it is dissolved so will not have green marks.
