PEAR SHAPED GLASS ORB WITH TILLANDSIA by Zentilly©

A Tillandsia (aka Air Plant) (nickname: Tilly) is nestled inside a hanging glass globe with natural elements.

This 7 inch high glass orb includes a jute rope for hanging. A flat bottom allows for optional tabletop display

Tillandsia is a genus with hundreds of species of plants in the bromelaid family. They are native to the forests, mountains and deserts of Central and South America, the southern United States and the West Indies. Tillandsia are also known as air plants, because they don’t require being planted in dirt to live. Nutrients are absorbed through their leaves and they use their roots to anchor themselves onto things. One to two months after a plant’s bloom has finished, new plants start forming around the base. These are called “pups” of the “mother” plant. Once those pups are about one third the size of the mother, you can break them off and grow them separately. Tillandsia air plants are NOT toxic to animals, and they also travel and ship well.

Kit comes with your choice of substrate. (See options in last photo - zoom in on photo to see substrate details), 1 or two shells or stones, small driftwood, dried starfish or dried sand dollar and/or reindeer moss. Natural add-in elements vary in type, color or size. Natural elements will keep to the theme of your substrate. For example, if you pick sand, then a shell will come with it. If you choose pebbles, a more woodland theme with natural woodland elements will be added. It may not match the photos exactly because each kit is custom assembled. Comes with one hand chosen Tillandsia air plant 2-5 inches high or two small 1-2 inch high air plant(s) Species vary on what is available. Colors of air plants are mostly shades of green, some like the ionantha and velutina may have red/pink when in blush/bloom. Plants received may or may not be in bloom. They require very little care except for indirect bright light and light misting. Simply remove air plant from orb and mist 2 or 3x a week and a weekly soaking for 1-2 hours. This is a DIY kit that you can create and call your own! Instructions on Tillandsia care instruction sheet is included. Easy assembly.

Be sure to pick your substrate option. If substrate is not selected, an option will be hand selected just for you!
