Vintage late 1950s early 1960s black rayon slim style day or cocktail dress, by American fashion designer Larry Aldrich. Very slim fitting skirt with a blousy bodice, zips up the back with one hook and thread eye at the top of the zipper, ties in the front and an overskirt has detailed slits on each side. Fully lined in silk satin. Very well made. Fabric is possibly rayon crepe. Aldrich, who started designing in the 1920s, embraced current fashion trends of his era and eventually sold his business in 1966 to focus on his art collection. His later designs incorporated pop art of the 1960s.

Dress is for a busty slim-hipped fashion lover. Please go by measurements and compare to clothing you already own. Dress is in excellent shape. See no issues. Round shoulders, dolman-like sleeves so not really possible to give shoulder measurements.

Bust: (armpit to armpit): About 18" across from seams, but has more room in darts
Waist: 13-1/2 across (27" waist)
Hips: 18-1/2 to 19" across
Length: 43" (to longest part of dress)
Bodice: 16" (from shoulder seam to waist)
