Book cover/case grey and blue
When you take a book with you in your rucksack or bag, there’s always the risk that it’ll get dirty, the cover will get bent back, or the pages creased. If it’s a special book, for whatever reason, that risk can make you think twice about taking the book with you. But on the other hand, reading on the bus, the train, or the tube is one of the best ways of whiling away that commuter boredom and transforming non-productive time into some of the best moments of the day.
So I set myself a challenge: to design a universal travelling case that would hold most books, and would also be a “thing of beauty”, something you would enjoy handling and using. Felt is a material that combines attractive colours with just the right thickness, durability and “give” to be perfect for the job.
My felt book protector solves the problem of looking after your favourite travel companion by keeping your book cosy and pristine, whatever else is in your bag or backpack. This protective case, with its elastic securing band, is very versatile, and will accommodate books of various thicknesses, in a format of up to A5 (max 22 cm high and about 15-16 cm width, about 5-6 cm thick).
The colour schemes I use are based on graphite, which is elegant and aesthetic, and has a lot of practical qualities – it seems to repel dirt, and is easy to clean if necessary.
The securing bands come in complementary colours of blue. If you wish other colour check my other listings.
About me:
I have been fascinated by felt for a long time – I love its intense colours, interesting texture and wide range of applications. I use this beautiful material to make protective cases for books, and in any spare moments for tablets and mobile phones. Sometimes I also add hand-embroidered, personalised decoration – usually for family and friends.
