Cast in a Dense plaster compound and coloured with acrylic paint. It is coated in a waterproof finish to allow it to be hung outside .

Whats it made from?

At SummerIsle we use various modelling materials to make the original sculpture. These include Sculpey, Fimo, Newplast, Milliput as well as air drying clays for larger items. We make a mould of the original using latex then cast in a hard plaster which is suitable for indoor use. The pieces are handpainted by us and each piece will vary slightly in colour.

Made up of two friends who have known each other since 1999 despite having absolutely nothing in common Whatsoever. David is the sculptor and Peter takes care of the moulding, casting, painting, packing, web site design, Ebay, Etsy, Folksy, Facebook, ordering supplies….come to think of it this is a bit one sided!!

SummerIsle Design was formed in 2012 and operates from a unique art studio located in a magical forest deep in the heart of 1066 coutry Hastings. Inspired by Pagan tradition, fantasy books and films plus local traditions such as ‘Jack in the Green’ and ‘Pirate Day’.
