The vintage 2-drachmas coins (1990) are in 'uncirculated' condition - bright and shiny! They are made of copper, and about the size of a US nickel.

The earrings present the 'reverse' sides of the coins, depicting a ship cannon, anchor and steering wheel. The items are common in coastal areas - yet, specifically selected to commemorate the Greek War of Independence (1821-1830) against the Ottoman Empire. A passionate and makeshift Greek navy achieving success against the Ottoman navy in the Aegean Sea and prevented Ottoman reinforcements from arriving by sea.

The 'obverse' sides of the coins reflect a portrait of Manto Mavrogenous (1796-1840), a Greek heroine of the War of Independence. She raised monetary funds from her connections throughout Europe, and equipped, manned and "privateered" ships at her own expense.

The vintage cabochons are faceted glass, marine-blue in color and held in brass mounts.

The earwires are surgical steel, soft-gray in color and hypoallergenic.
