A classic gift - a map puzzle of the USA - for any student, home, school, or adult who loves geography. Fifty "chunky pieces".
The state name is imprinted on the tray under each state-shaped piece and the capital of each state is on the bottom side of each of the pieces. NOTE: The details are printed in this way to allow a "FLASH CARD" educational approach to learning - the child guesses the capital, then confirms their answer by checking on the back. MOST EDUCATIONAL! In addition, this approach leaves the face of the puzzle uncluttered, which makes it very attractive when hung for display in den or classroom.
Besides learning the states and capitals, you'll also learn the SHAPE of each state and the names of other states that border each state.
We combine the state of Delaware with Maryland, Connecticut and Rhode Island are connected to Massachusetts (although we paint each state a different color)... this is to help you to not lose the tiny pieces. Each of the 5 Great Lakes are pieces.
The Hawaiian Islands are hand painted on to one piece.
Replacement pieces available.
Size is 24" wide by 16" high and 1/2" thick. Puzzle weighs approximately 4 1/2 pounds.
