The idea to start making wooden calendars started in our home. We have a calendar hanging in our kitchen that was passed on from my husband's grandmother which holds a lot of memories for him. The photo is outdated but the memories are still alive when he looks at it. Our vision at Knots in the Grain was to make a more modern version of the calendar that we can one day pass on to our grandchildren. This handmade wooden calendar will make a great addition to any home decor and looks great in any room.

The calendar is made of quality pine and is completely handmade in our home shop. The wood is cut using a scroll saw and the sides of the sign are routered by hand. Each square is cut, stained and painted in our shop. Alot of time and love goes into creating every calendar. Each calendar comes with 12 months, 31 days, and 7 holiday tiles (Christmas, Easter, Valentines Day, St Patricks Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving 4th of July/Canada Day (depending on where you live)and Birthday). If there are any additional holidays or occasions you wish to add, we can certainly make them for you at a charge of $2.50 per tile. You can even customize them for occasions or celebrations specific to your family, for example Taylor's Birthday.
If there is a holiday listed above that you do not celebrate, please message me and we can work together to make it custom to you and your families celebrations ( a maximum of 7 holiday tiles are included with the calendar. After that additional tiles can be purchased for $2.50-$4.00). We also sell blank tiles for $0.75 each if you wish to customize them yourself using paint or a fine tip marker.

If there is a specific design or quote you wish to have on the calendar other than the ones photographed in our shop, please message me and I would be happy to work with you to create a calendar design personalized for you. Also if you want to change any of the colours of our current designs, please feel free to message me.


Please keep in mind that this calendar is made with a natural material, wood and each sign will vary slightly in regards to the grain, knots, etc. They are handmade so each sign may vary slightly from the one pictured. We feel this helps keep our product unique and personal.
