Alpaca is a silky, soft fiber that has unique thermal properties due to microscopic air pockets. These pockets allow feet to breathe on warm days, and also trap body heat in cold weather. Alpaca is naturally moisture wicking and antimicrobial, keeping feet dry and comfortable. Alpaca fiber is considered to be naturally hypo-allergenic because it does not contain lanolin and can be worn by most people with sensitive skin.
**New Sustainable Easy Wash Alpaca, which is an anti-shrinkage enzymatic treatment that helps prevent shrinkage when machine washing. It is made in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. All the treatment is free of chlorine, resins and sulfuric acid, and do not present any kind of problem for tributaries. The enzymatic treatment does not contain any type of harmful chemicals. It is approved by Oekotex, Blue Sign, and Reach. Maximum shrinkage is only about 8% (if washed properly, there should be no shrinkage).
Care instructions: Wash with mild detergent, no bleach, in cold water with a cold rinse (if handwashing you can use lukewarm water). Lay flat to dry or tumble dry on low.
Made in the USA using USA grown alpaca fiber, including ours!
Thank you for supporting our small family farm. We are one of the few alpaca farms in the United States that doesn't import any of our alpaca products (believe it or not, most alpaca farms import 50% or more of their alpaca products!). All of our alpaca products are made by our fiber co-op, one of our fiber friends, or us. We have 51 alpacas that reside with us on our 18 acre farm in west central Illinois, and we know them all by name. On the girls' side there is a 2 acre pond with a small white sand beach. From May through October we have monthly Alpaca Beach Parties. Follow us on Facebook to stay updated with farm happenings and events. Maybe we'll see you at our next Alpaca Beach Party!
