DO YOU KILL THE BEES FOR JEWELRY? Never! All honeybees died of natural causes, and I get them from bee keepers in the Northeast USA. *All are from healthy and well-cared for hives.* The keepers scoop up the dead ones for me they find around their hives. Depending on their role in the hive and the time of year they are raised, most workers and drones live from just a few weeks to up 6 months.

I carved the original setting from wax, inspired by classic Art Deco shapes then made a mold so I can cast the 1.5" tall x .75" pendant in brass or sterling silver. It comes on your choice of 16", 18", or 20" cable chain with a lobster clasp, and a small brass hexagon. Model is wearing 16" length. Chain is sterling silver, or gold-filled with the brass pendant. I set the bees in resin with a layer of gold leaf, which gives it a honey-colored glow.

*This is not the exact necklace you will be receiving. Bees are in all different positions and sizes, and every single piece is unique. I use mostly worker bees, but also some drones. You can request a bee in any position, or even send me one of your own bees to cast.*

Jewelry that needs polishing comes with a polishing swatch and care info on a card. Most items that can tarnish also come with an airtight baggie and anti-tarnish swatch for storage. You can find additional care info in each item's details.

Silver jewelry can be polished with any commercial polishing cloth. I don't recommend liquid cleaners as this will remove the detail oxidation.
