Custom and personalized orders

For commissioned builds/ custom orders, we never charge packaging/shipping costs up front. It is impossible to obtain an accurate packaging/shipping quote without having the finished packaged dimensions and weight. Once your build is complete, you'll be notified of completion and sent photographs of the build. It will be handed over to my local and professional packaging partner. They will contact you either by telephone or email to make delivery arrangements. Their packaging/ shipping services can be paid either over the phone or by digital means (emailed invoice). My shipping partner is top notch and the only professional that I trust in making sure my work arrives at your home or business the same way it leaves my shop.

Drying Checks (cracks)

Drying checks (cracks) are natural features found in solid live edge hardwood slabs. These are not defects, but instead considered character. We do our best to negate drying checks, but they happen (usually during drying process). We make every attempt to note if certain pieces have drying checks, if left natural, filled with a tinted resin, etc., but it is the buyers responsibility to view the photographs and inquire with any concerns. At times, new drying checks will occur or expand after being finished and in their new homes. Again, this in no way degrades the structural integrity of the piece nor reflects a negative quality of craftmanship or care taken in the build. To learn more please visit kentuckyliveedge.com.

Can I Buy Raw Wood or Live Edge Slabs from Kentucky LiveEdge?

No. I can cut and finish a piece of wood for you from numerous species, in any desired dimensions, using your choice of several finishing options, but if interested in only purchasing raw materials, you will need to inquire with a commercial sawmill or lumber yard.

Can You Do Engravings?

Unfortunately, we do not offer engraving services.

Do You Offer Planing Services?

No. You will need to contact a commercial carpentry or fabrication shop for wood flattening, planing or molding services.

Shipping: Builds of this size are usually too large for standard ground services. Your desk will need to either be crated and freighted or delivered via white glove service. Shipping costs are TBD and the responsibility of purchaser at time of completion. My professional packager will contact you either by phone or email to provide the best options available. Of course, local pick-up in Central Kentucky is always a welcomed option as well.
