Unfortunately, Etsy only allows me to put in the weight of 1 item in the listing, so I use the weight of the heavier length which would be a yard of fabric, that is why the shipping looks outrageously high.

However, I do refund shipping overages, ship all items together and use the most economical shipping option to cut down on costs and refund shipping overages to the customer.

All postage calculations in my shop are based on the weight of a yard of fabric, since Etsy allows the weight of only 1 item in each listing. Generally, 3 yards of fabric weigh about a pound.

So if you choose 3 fat quarters, Etsy calculates it as 3 yards which would weigh about a pound, needing the Priority mail shipping.

However, we do use postage based on the actual weight of the item, so 3 fat quarters could ship 1st class and we would refund the shipping overage.
