Artisan made, hand dyed free hand and with a stencil. Bingata is a traditional silk of Okinawa. The colors tend to be more vibrant than typical Japanese designs. This silk was made in Tokyo in the Okinawan style. This type of silk is known as 'ro' 絽（ろ) and is usually used to make summer kimono. It is of the absolute highest quality. The original price of the full bolt is still attached. 148,000JPY / $1,289. It would have made a beautiful kimono. Excellent quality and condition. The weight hangs beautifully.
