This listing is for the PDF of a crochet pattern to make your own HOT DOG OCTOPUS, and it is -not- an actual, finished octopus (although I sell them here on Etsy, too).

One of my favorite, popular characters in bento boxes (Japanese lunch boxes) is the hot dog octopus or tako wiener. They're just so silly and funny! You take a piece of hot dog and cut slits in the bottom, and when you cook the hot dog, the slits splay out and look like tentacles. The face is then made with a combo of cheeses and/or seaweed cut-outs. Now you can make a cute, crocheted version!

You'll be working in single crochet, half double crochet, and in the round.

I think that an advanced beginner or intermediate crocheter would be comfortable working this project.

It's a fantastic stash-buster, too!
