Copper naturally discolours with age and, with prolonged wearing, can react with the oils in your skin leaving that well known greenish tinge. This is perfectly normal. All my copper pieces are, however, coated in a special substance called Renaissance Wax which will temporarily help protect the piece from discolouring and from reacting with your skin. This will wear off in time but applying a little car wax or similar product will help protect it again. Lemon juice and salt is a great easy way to clean copper. Please be aware that some people are sensitive to copper.
