WHAT IS A CHALLAH COVER?
On Friday night and Saturday, something special happens in Jewish households that observe the Shabbat.
Weekly stress melts away as the dining table is set with fine dishes, candles, wine, and the delicious challah bread.
The most outstanding and decorative piece on the traditional table is the beautifully designed Challah Cover which sits at the head of the table.
A Shabbat Challah Cover is placed over two loaves of challah, covering the bread until the Kiddush has been recited for the Sabbath and Jewish holidays.
This original piece will definitely be an impressive addition to your Shabbat table.
This item is created me. It is made of machine washable materials, laces and ribbons and measures approximately 22" x 18”. The Hebrew word “Shabbat" is written in the center. Alternatve wording such as "Shabbat Shalom"(A Peaceful Sabbath or Welcome Shabbat) or "Shabbat v'Yom Tov" can be placed in the center of this piece.
A table runner of the same design as shown in one of the pictures can be produced especially for you to compliment the Challah Cover on the table.
