Our Durango is made of Knotty Alder which is indigenous to the Pacific Northwest. The incredible grain, knots and rustic effects of this amazing wood has made it our #1 choice within our Mountain Elegance line of products. The steel washers have a 1/4" raised detail that really stands out. Each beam is individually cut, sized and distressed by hand on the same workbench that that my grandfather built 80+ years ago. (I love this stuff...can you tell?) For four generations we've been designing and manufacturing mantels, wall shelves, cabinetry, custom furniture and art pieces in our studio/shop, located in the Rockies just north of Salt Lake City.

It is open in the back making it lightweight and very easy to mount in place. Your new mantel will arrive ready to hang and with our easy to follow instructions you can have it up in 15 minutes or less. Beautiful mantle for a great price. This mantle is far prettier and better priced than any of the mantles me and my husband looked at in the brick and morter store when we ordered our insert. I haven't gotten it up yet because we are having a new insert put in. I will post a photo when I do. Thank you! I highly recommend it!

Wow! Simply WOW. This is such a beautiful piece. I’m a 58 year old single woman and I installed this myself (on a stone base no less)! No, I’m not skilled, it was just easy.
