This is a 1950's era outfit recently found in an old trunk belonging to a WWII French War bride who immigrated to American in the 1960's.
It is a two piece outfit made by Horrockses Fashion and made of the thick cotton that was produced by the Horrockses Mill.. The top is a button front with a pointed Peter Pan collar. It has fancy knotched sleeves that are cuffed at the shoulder. The skirt is made of dark brown cotton. It is a high waist style with heavy metal hooks and snaps on the sides and buttons in the front. It has deep pockets on the front panels with details that compliment the cuffs on the shirt.
The outfit is simple but expertly tailored. There is an old dry cleaning tag on the blouse.

I purchased the contents of trunk that belong to a WWII French War Bride. It contained her wardrobe from when she was a young girl in the early 1930's through her maternity wardrobe in the 1960's.
