The Elite is the upgraded version of the Standard Sling. It offers a lot more details and looks and sounds better when you're throwing.
The Elite finger loop is a two-strand weave. This gives both a sturdy grip and a comfortable feel after the hemp wears in a little. The retention cord is made from eight strands of hemp woven in a four-strand round braid. The pocket is split pouch with each side being a four-strand-wide flat weave. The split pouch is suitable for holding a large variety of rocks. The release cord is tapered. One thread is woven out of the release cord as it moves down from 8 threads thick to 4 threads thick. The woven-out threads are then secured to the cord with a whip-end wrap. Whip-end wraps add stability and durability to the tapered-out ends, and most importantly, they make the release cord look cool. The release cord taper adds an extra snap to the release. Your throw will end in a loud "crack" with some practice, just like with a whip! It makes for a much more impressive showing in front of friends. The end toggle toggle varies depending on the thickness of the sling. Going from a single overhand knot on the XL to a triple overhand knot on the small. An added bit of hemp around the release cord right after the pouch gives your sling extra life and years. This elongated whip end wrap is there to take the friction from the rocks thrown. It will get worn and fall off before your sling gets worn, sometimes adding years to the sling.
When you buy this, please message me your thumb-to-shoulder distance. This will help each sling fit the individual better.
The size options have been updated as of November 1, 2023. The Max is now large. Hybrid stays the same. The standard is updated to small. Two more sizes have been added: medium and extra large.
The Small is made from a thin 48lbs test hemp.
The Medium is a unique Hemp blend that is sometimes available and is in between the standard thicknesses.
The Large is made with thick 48lbs test hemp.
The Hybrid's pouch and finger loop are woven with thin hemp, and the body is made from 48-lb test hemp.
The Extra Large is made from 180lbs test Hemp.
Wax Option
No wax. This means the Hemp is pure and natural.
Beeswax. This is an exterior coating of pure beeswax.
Sling Wax. This is a mixture of Beeswax and Linseed Oil to help coat the sling and soak into the fibers.
Partial Wax- Wax on the pouch and the bottom half of the release cord.
Full Wax- Wax from the finger loop to the end tassel.
Beeswax and Sling Wax options:
Adding beeswax or sling wax to your sling is optional, but there are some benefits to it.
Pure Beeswax will add a protective layer over your sling to help it with rougher ammo.
Sling Wax is a mix of Beeswax and Linseed oil. The oil helps condition the strings and can, because linseed oil is a drying oil, it will help make your sling water-resistant.
All slings are waxed on the day of shipping. If you do not want a slightly oily feel, allow a few days to a week for the oil to dry. To speed up the process, leave your sling in an open and airy space. Sunlight will oxidize the oil and cause slight yellowing. This will not damage your sling; it is just something to be aware of.
Why you should buy from me:
I have been making slings for 2 decades. And have sold thousands of slings. I have made slings in over 30 different styles. From all this experience, I have chosen the styles of slings that work best and consistently perform. I have specific requirements for a good sling: ease of carrying, durability, look, feel, and lastly, "wow factor." My slings are shipped fresh and crisp. After the new owner gets a few sessions of slinging in with them, they break in and conform to the thrower's hand and style.
I know what fun slinging can be, and that is why I have a sling on me at all times. Sometimes, this requires a minimal sling around my wrist or in a chest pocket. Sometimes, I replace my belt with a thick, sturdy sling. Other times, I throw one in my back pocket. I have a sling in every backpack and almost every jacket. I carry my water bottle with one. Once you get a sling, I am confident you will find more uses and reasons to have one. It is also a fun activity to do with friends.
