THE LEGAL BLACKBIRD - COMMON GARDEN BIRDS OF IRELAND

This Art Print features one of my original hand-painted gouache illustrations from my series of Common Garden Birds of Ireland (2017). The illustration is digitally printed on 350gsm recycled paper. It's the perfect gift for any occasion, or just a treat for yourself and your home.

The male Blackbird is all black, aside from a bright yellow eye-ring and bill. He is a house-proud bird and builds a neat, mud-lined, cup-shaped nest. He is omnivorous, and enjoys the finer things in life: a wide range of insects, earthworms, berries and fruits. He's a gregarious fellow, famous for his rich, melodious song and, when he's not arguing the legal battles of the day, he enjoys showing it off at all the plushest parties about town.

I mail my etched and screen printed works flat as it protects the raw, deckled edges of the paper which is a beautiful feature of the work. I believe that my handmade traditional prints look their best when float mounted in a frame (I do not sell frames or provide framing services) and mailing them flat prevents the paper from developing waves, buckles or creases and allows them to sit as flat as possible within the frame. If you would prefer for any of these prints to be mailed in a rigid cardboard tube, let me know and I'll see if I can facilitate.
