How much space do I need?
The activity is designed to take place in a single room. Any room that is large enough to fit all the participants can work.
How long will it take to complete the challenge?
Expect the activity to take between 25 and 45 minutes. The kit comes with a standard version and a modified version with simpler clues for new readers. Scripted hints are included in the instructions to move the game along if needed. (If you make the Progressive Escape Room using the Boosted Original, the game will last 60+ minutes!)
Is it scary?
Not as designed. The goal of the activity is to find the combination of a lock. However, with a little imagination, it can easily be adapted to suit a creepy theme!
Can I customize the activity?
You can customize the activity to match nearly any theme by simply changing the prize. For example, this link (https://goo.gl/vx1mWv) shows how one parent created a Harry Potter theme for her party. Almost any theme can work: princesses can be looking for their jewels; pirates can be searching for a treasure or map; wizards can search for a spell or a potion; bakers can be searching for their frosting; inmates can be searching for a key to escape. A theme is not required.
What do I need to supply?
You need to provide a room, a box (or suitcase) that can be locked, and a few basic living items: 5-10 books, a table and chairs, a stool, a lamp, and a few stuffed animals. Pens or pencils and some scotch tape might be useful as well.
How long will this take me to set up?
If you are willing to trust the set-up instructions without doing a trial run, you can set this up in under 10 minutes. If you want to do a trial run as part of your set-up, add another 15 minutes.
How many kids can play?
While there is technically no limit to the number of participants, I recommend limiting it to 8 or fewer kids so that everyone gets ample opportunity to participate. If you have a larger group, you can divide up into two or more teams. This would require a separate room as well. To run two games simultaneously, you will need to order two kits. Order a 2-pack to get 30% off the second kit.

What is the Boosted Original?
The Boosted Original kit includes the Escape Original kit plus the clues for the Escape 2.0 Game. It allows you to change the lock combination and play a second game!
