5 out of 5 starsThe pattern was fairly easy to follow. That being said, my hat did not turn out like the picture. I'm sure the mistake is on me, but so far I haven't figured it out. I still reccomend this seller.

I love this hat! It is very simple, definitely easy enough for a beginner, but the shell crochet forming the hat band really makes the hat. I've been wearing it every day since crocheting it.

This pattern calls for a worsted weight yarn, which I used, with a H hook. I had to go down to an E hook and make the childs size to get it to an adult size. By then the brim was to small. I feel like I totally wasted my money on this pattern :-( I have been crocheting at advanced level for over 50 yrs using patterns. Now I am really un-happy when I see this pattern for less money on Ravelry and there is also a not it is free on her blog. I find this to be very poor on the sellers part

I'm so sorry you are disappointed. The pattern states to use a medium worsted such as Red Heart Soft or Caron Simply Soft, these are different from heavier weight worsted yarns, which is why checking gauge is so important. As for the pricing issue, I do have some patterns for free on my website, however, many people do not enjoy the advertising which supports the costs, so I offer an ad-free PDF on ETSY.
