Iris Flower Knitting Pattern

Highlights
Use this pattern to make a full-size felted Iris and its leaf. The flower and leaf stand up using stiff florist wire.
Yarn Requirements: Use a 100% worsted weight wool or a wool blend that will felt. Our Iris calls for 70 yards of green for the stem and leaf; 100 yards of purple, 10 yards of yellow and 10 yards of white for the flower.
Supply Requirements: You'll need size 10 double pointed needles, a stitch holder, a yarn needle and a spare pair of long straight needles, size 10 or smaller. For the stem and leaf, you'll need two 18 gauge, 18" pieces of florist wire. You'll also need a spare length of thin ribbon and couple of safety pins for felting the stem.
