A4 / Letter size in 180-220 gsm / 65 lbs cover

You can use either white cardstock and spray paint it, or coloured/patterned cardstock. I recommend against metallic paper, which takes longer to dry.

For all my prototypes, I personally use Iris Vivaldi® by Canson® in 185 gsm, which comes in 50-sheet reams. They have 30 colours to choose from.
Brands like Recollections®, Astrobrights®, Staples®, to name a few, are also good options provided that they come in 65 lbs (176 gsm)

For a cheaper alternative, go for Bristol paper but note it usually comes in white. Then you may or may not need to spray paint it on one side (in bronze, gold, silver, etc.), which is good for concealing potential glue smears by the way.

➽ 𝗚𝗟𝗨𝗘 𝗜 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗗
Any wood glue or any craft glue will do.
Fast drying one is a plus for saving time, but it is optional.

Some crafters save even more time with good double-sided tape, but please note that it makes the "seams" more visible.

Printing on black paper does not make any sense as you will not be able to see the ink. So instead, print on white cardstock and spray paint the other side :)
