Can I collect in person

Before purchasing one of our mantels you can arrange a visit to our workshop and see the quality before purchasing.

Will these fit metal/wood stud walls

Unfortunately these aren't suitable for stud walls.

Shakes (splits) - Knots - Pin Worm

Cracks & splits (we call them shakes) Cracks are a hot topic in the BespOakMantels office! Up there with the most frequent queriers are those related to cracks or splits. It is a common misconception that cracks are a defect in oak beams and alters the structural integrity of the timber. Of course this is true for most joinery timber however cracks are one of the best indicators that the beam is in fact air dried. As oak dries out, it shrinks across the grain which causes cracks to develop. We only use QP1 and QPA grade structural oak beams which means the angle at which the grain runs is limited, avoiding cracks to run off too severely and weakening the structure.

Unfortunately at this time we only offer collections on sailboards due to size and weight.

We will ship these beams via Parcelforce on a tracked service, unfortunately we can't do a free service for areas classed as a Remote with Parcelforce ( Highlands - Islands - Northern Ireland - Isle of Wight or the Isle of Man) please contact us for a price.
 * Failed delivery: It is your responsibility to ensure you or someone is available on the day of delivery. If our courier attempts the delivery within the time window and nobody was home, this  will result in a failed delivery charge. * Damages / Faults: at the point of delivery, if there is significant packaging damage then you may either; 1. refuse the order, or 2. accept the order and sign as unchecked making sure you  and the driver take a photograph. This will cover you in the eventuality where the product may be damaged inside.
