All of our wafer paper butterflies are made with the highest quality edible paper and inks. They are then precision cut by machine so there are no choppy corners and no uncut white areas. They are also different than most, because you have the choice to make them double-sided, so you can fold up their delicate wings and you don't see the unsightly blank side on your cake or cupcake.

These butterflies are 1.75" to 2.25" wide and range in color from lighter to darker. Each set contains 36 butterflies which are mirror images of each other. They are ready to use as 36 single butterflies, or you can put them back to back to make 18 butterflies with color on both sides of each wing. It's super easy to do! Complete instructions are included. The back of these butterflies are plain white.

With our assembly kit add-on you can quickly and easily assemble these images. Kit includes .25 oz of high quality piping gel in recloseable tube and small brush and will assemble 2-3 sets of butterflies. Kit should be stored in cool, dark place in the sealed plastic bag in which they are shipped. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Kit will keep for up to one year.

*Wafer paper is an edible paper that can be printed using edible ink, and placed on buttercream, royal icing or fondant. It stays rather firm and papery on the dessert, and the consistency is similar to communion wafers.

Wafer paper should be stored in cool, dark place in the sealed plastic bag in which it is shipped. Do not refrigerate or freeze. It will keep indefinitely. However, edible inks may fade if exposed to light for extended periods.

Wafer paper is best for desserts where the decoration can easily be removed before eating. While it is completely edible, wafer paper can be a bit papery in the mouth. It is slightly transparent, so should be used on items with a white background. Wafer paper can be propped or stood up on desserts and make amazing drink toppers.

Frosting sheets are soft and slightly sweet and are barely noticeable when eaten with the dessert. These are best used where it is difficult to remove the decoration before eating, or the background color is not white. Frosting sheets are ideal for cookies and cakes.

We are happy to do rush orders if time permits and it does not push any of our current orders behind schedule. We may add an additional charge for this service. Please keep in mind that you must allow for shipping time, so asking for an item on Friday that you need on Monday is just not going to be possible. While we can accomplish amazing feats, unfortunately the postal service does not run according to our schedule.

These butterflies were the perfect addition to my daughter’s cupcakes and smash cake! I wish I got better photos. I ordered the pale pink. They were delicate but easy to work with. I didn’t have any issues with them breaking. I opted to purchased the assembly kit and I’m so glad I did! It made it soooo easy to get them to stay in place. They were beautiful, cut perfectly, and only had a very faint wafer flavor. They melted in your mouth. All the kids loved them!
