Pattern Description:

The Xanadu Traveler is the perfect bag for when you are ready to hit the road. Make your weekend getaway complete with a way to carry a full weekend of clothing and footwear with room to spare. Stocked with a bottom zipper compartment, a spacious interior, an optional trolley sleeve to piggy back on top of rolling luggage, elastic straps on the exterior to carry a yoga mat, a towel or even a jacket, and lots of pockets to keep you organized. The small size makes the ideal gym bag too! Top corners unhook for easy packing. Perfect carry handles along with a long strap to carry over your shoulder or even crossbody.

Best of all, easy to complete bottom zipper compartment with no drop-in linings or curved zippers to install.

The Xanadu Traveler comes in two sizes and two options to allow you to create the perfect travel bag to fit your needs.

Option 1: Create the ideal travel bag with a bottom zipper compartment to hold an extra pair of shoes, toiletries, or even dirty clothes. Perfect for the gym to carry shoes and a towel.

Option 2: Make the perfect getaway bag with a spacious interior and a contrast bottom that lets you pack it all in.

Both options offer to sizes two choose from-

Large: Measures: 14" High, 18" wide, and 8 1/2" deep. Sure to fit everything you need for a long journey.

Small: Measures 12" high, 15" Wide, and 7" deep. Perfect for a quick Jaunt out of town for the weekend, a great gym bag, or an overnight trip.

Option 1 - Overnighter/Gym Bag (small) and Weekender (large)

FABRICS AND INTERFACINGS:
1 ⅓ yards (1 ½ yards for Large) 44” wide décor weight or quilting cotton weight -Main Fabric
1 ⅔ yards (2 yards for Large) 44” wide quilting cotton weight - Lining Fabric
2 ⅓ yards (2 ½ yards for Large) 45” Fusible Pellon 809 Decor Interfacing - Heavy Interfacing
1 ⅓ yards (1 ⅔ yards for Large) 20” Fusible Pellon SF 101 – Light Interfacing
1 ½ yards (2 yards for Large) 20” Pellon FF 77 Fusible Flex Foam
or- ½ yard (⅔yard for Large) Fusible Fleece -TP971F-Pellon Fleece Thermolam Plus and 1 yard 20” Pellon FF 77 Fusible Flex Foam
1 yard (1 ⅓ yards for Large) 20” Pellon 100 Vinyl fuse Iron on Vinyl
½ yard (⅔yard for Large) 20” Peltex 71F Ultra Firm Fusible Stabilizer
24”- 1 ½” Heavy Stretch Waistband Elastic

ZIPPERS:
1- 22” (26” for Large) #5 Nylon Coil Zipper (single or double pull-your preference) – Top Zipper
1- 32” (36” for Large) #5 Nylon Coil Zipper – Compartment Zipper
1- 6” (7” for large) # 3 Nylon Coil Zipper- Exterior Zipper Pocket
1- 14” (both sizes) # 3 Nylon Coil Zipper- Interior Zipper Pocket

HARDWARE:
4- 1 ½” Rectangle Rings
4- 1 ½” D-rings
2- 1 ½” Swivel Hooks
1- 1 ½” Slider

OTHER:
Coordinating thread
Removable Fabric Marker (I recommend a Frixion gel pen as it can be removed by pressing with an iron.)
Microtex (Sharp) Needle 80/12 –Recommended for topstitching.
Fabric glue or a temporary bond fabric glue stick (optional).
